Muppets and Movies Oh My

While reading Slashdot last week I came across a link to a feature on movies.go.com that had Statler and Waldorf (as well as some guest appearances) giving “reviews” on movies. I watched the first episode and found it amusing and laughed quite a bit at some parts as well. The Slashdot crowd was kind of sinister to it in that it’s not the original voices and they don’t have the same cut throat comments like they used to back in the day when featured on the Muppet Show however I still think they’re funny.
This week they had some good comments on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the Fantastic Four (a movie I’ve been waiting to see). Also, Rowlf the Dog has some good tips from the “set” of the movie Wedding Crashers. They also have Balconisms that they offer at the end of each clip (last week’s is still available as well). They seem to have a different rating system for the movies each week too — this week it was how fast they would drive to the movie with a max being 35 MPH and last week I think it had to do with sleeping.
I think it’s worth checking out just for their comments on special effects and Jessica Alba this week.

http://www.slantmagazine.com provides really well written, although often ultra critical, movie and music reviews.

Thanks for the link Rob. Checked out the FF review as I’ve been doing with all of them I’ve seen.
HEHE. Ah well, I usually disagree with reviewers anyway.
I think the funnier part of the Statler and Waldorf stuff is they don’t even show a clip as if they’ve seen the movie, it’s simply the preview that everyone has seen before then they just make of the movie most times. Now those are reviews we all like. Ones that don’t really matter.
