Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Yes I know, today was the big premiere of Fantasic Four so why didn’t I go see that? Basically I didn’t feel like sitting in a crammed theatre and for the most part being annoyed by drones of the 13-16 age group who usually go to the movies during their first few days out mainly to sit there and talk to the person next to them. Now that I have that out of the way though, here’s my take on the movie…

I liked it. I don’t think the previews really gave “much” away. Basically you see the previews and it gives you the story. Mr. and Mrs. Smith are hitmen (er… women), are married and then are told to kill each other. That’s the previews version of the story or what I got from it anyway. That’s basically what the movie gives you as well but watching it there’s much more comedy thrown in — and not just coming from Vince Vaughn. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have qutie a few good lines for different parts of the story.

Going in I thought I’d be watching a movie with gun fights, explosions and things blowing up all over the place. I got that. But I also got it with a smile on my face as a comedic element was thrown in.

As a disclaimer as I can see someone coming in and saying something else to me — I AM NOT A MOVIE REVIEWER, these are simply my opinions on the movie as a regular dumb movie goer so don’t shoot me for plot holes, lousy script etc. Okay, now that we have that cleared up I’ll continue.

I definitely recommend going to check this out if you haven’t yet (it has been out for awhile). Angelina Jolie wasn’t the original actress that they wanted to cast for the part either, it was originally supposed to go to Nicole Kidman but after seeing the movie I don’t see how Kidman could have pulled it off the same way Jolie does. I find Jolie more believable in the action/fighting type stuff and believe that she could actually hold her own in a fight with Pitt whereas Kidman would have been a more of a stretch of the imagination.

So basically, go check it out, it’s worth the money for the big screen and the popcorn.
