Stupid Critics

I wanted to write this last night but it was just too ridiculously hot to do anything. Last night I watched the eagerly anticipated (by me) movie Fantastic Four. And before I go any further, I like the Fantastic Four and have collected their latest comic offerings since last year sometime — the newer series Ultimate FF and Marvel Knights 4. So yes, I’m a fan of Fantastic Four.
With all that being said. I liked this movie. Sure for diehard fans they’ve changed the story a bit here and there to tweak it better for a movie audience and to add “depth” but it still all works. It was simply a fun movie and definitely a turn from the darker Batman Begins which came out earlier this year.
I started reading some of the early reviews of the movie last week and most critics were putting it down saying it was a flop and this that and everything else was wrong with it. But once again I disagree with the critics.
To fans unfamiliar with the Fantastic Four they might think some of the ideas etc were taking from the Incredibles when in actuality it’s the other way around. Some of the powers were the same and used in the same way as well but I guess that comes to be expected. Something I was iffy on going into the movie was how they accomplished the Thing. Instead of going CGI which I thought might look weird they decided to use makeup and a full body suit. It actually worked out good.
In the end, if you like movies, if you like action, if you like Jessica Alba (or if you’re female and you like that guy that plays Johnny Storm), go check out this movie.

You forgot to mention that in a mere 12 seconds the Thing manages to turn himself back into a rock AND sew himself some fancy new leotards.
