New Toys!

After a long delay in my toy collecting I finally picked up some new toys last night purely based on impulse. I started collecting figures made by McFarlane Toys last summer and up until last night received my last one on my birthday in January.

I have almost a complete collection of a Spawn series of the toys, the number I cannot remember and I’m too lazy to go searching through the site to find them. I then have a number of hockey figures that all come from different series and were bought because I liked the looks of them including a 12″ Wayne Gretzky in an Oilers’ uniform. My other “toy” that is miscellaneous in my collection is a Billy the Kid which looks great and I like the character so I asked for him for Christmas and received him. YAY!

Phil Esposito NHL Legends Hockey FigureBut to the new toys, ever since the NHL Legends 2 line was released in April I wanted the Phil Esposito figure as Phil is from the Sault and I grew up playing hockey on Esposito Park’s outdoor rink however every store I went to was sold out when I was ready to buy him but not last night. Sitting staring at me on the shelf was one sole Esposito figure so I had to grab him.

I then started looking threw the two shelves of other figures that had including hockey, baseball, football and basketball figures to see if there were any other players that caught my eye. I thought NHL Legends 3 was available now featuring Tony Esposito which is another figure I want to get but that doesn’t come out until November (now that I’ve checked the site).Nikolai Khabibulin NHL Series 11 I did however grab a Nikolai Khabibulin figure in a Winnipeg Jets jersey, he was also the only one so that’s why I grabbed him and besides, he was in a Jets uniform. The “Bulin Wall” is part of NHL Series 11 which features all Canadian based teams.

The better part of the story is that we actually went to the store and made it over to the toys section to see if the new Beatles Saturday Morning Cartoon boxed set was in Beatles Saturday Morning Cartoonsbut it hasn’t arrived at stores yet (although it does come out this month). This is a grab for Jes and not me as she loves the Beatles and I previously bought her the Beatles Yellow Submarine figures.

Another “new toy” we received on the weekend but bought two weeks ago was a brand new mattress. It was expensive but we got in on sale and it is amazing. The mattress is a Kingsdown Dormo mattress and is pretty much a giant marshmallow, so much softer than the board I was sleeping on before.

Any idea where can I find that boxed set of The Beatles Saturday Morning cartoon figurines? I love them and I’m pretty sure this is something that I can’t live without!
    Thanks for your help.
