Fun With Stats

September was the best month for the site so far (271 unique visitors — ooooo). What I like to check out the most though is how people are finding the blog through the various search engines.

The top searches for the blog last month were basically ones containing Rock Star: INXS or variants of that including contestant’s names etc. But what has intrigued me more are the following “search terms” that brought people to the site:
butt sniffing
catching crabs the easy way
my crabs
butt sniffing animals

Now I’m not exactly sure what those people were looking for but hopefully they found it… somehwere else. ;)

Yeah, the one that caught my attention the most however (because my head is always in the gutter first) was:

    catching crabs the easy way

Do you really need to find that on a web site?

Step 1: Find a dirty whore, if unsure of who the “dirty whore” is, ask someone, they are easy to point out.
    Step 2: Approach dirty whore.
Step 3: You now have crabs.

Alright, now you’ve made me curious… *wanders over to check Synapse’s SE terms*

Ok, mine are mostly boring, but…

next door kiera (what an odd combo)
ice smells like garlic (I actually did blog about this very thing)
    ohyah
fear of windows (still an ongoing problem in our house)
    laura ingles wilder (haha)
how much is 10 reams (10,000 sheets duh)

I ended up with 561 uniques last month (up from 318 in aug) and a lot of return visitors. I’m really trying to build up blog traffic for some unknown reason. Not sure why, but I wanna do it.

Hehe, I like the Butt Sniffing one. I think out of all my sites the wierdest search term I’ve had, was - “cheating on your father”

It also seems like, I get about 60% of my unique hits are referes from Yahoo and MSN searches. Last month my blog had 417 Unique hits.
