Responsibility

Well it’s official, I’m a grown up now.
I received a call about 30 minutes ago asking if I could disappear for 24 hrs. Intriguing. I asked what was up. Basically Belsito was offering me a ticket to the U2 concert being held in Detroit tonight (5 hr drive away) as the person it belonged to woke up ill and couldn’t make the journey. I had to think about it for a moment then realized that I had a dog to take care of and some business related work to work on (my three sites in three weeks thing).
I am now a grown up, have responsibilities and have to prioritize. Holy crap what the hell has happened to me?

Sometimes being the adult really sucks. When you’re finally earning that steady paycheck doing work you love with the company you started, it’s worth it, though. I’ve been at it two years and I’m finally getting to that point and it feels great. Not that I love working every day or love every project I work on. Sometimes there are things that I downright can’t stand and it’s a lot of work just to force myself to even open the files to edit. Once you finally get going, you get to thinking about the rewards, though, and how you’re pulling it off and making it all work and it gets easier and you start enjoying it. Starting the project is always the hardest part.

When there is something Kelli can’t stand, she usually kicks me in the nuts and then feels better.
