So Far, Not So Good

A week and a half back I set the lofty goal of three sites in three weeks and I thought that it was close to doable. Even if two of the sites were just designed and needing the backend code to go along with them with my main site actually becoming a site.
PROBLEM.
I’m going slower then planned. It’s basically been a week and a half and I’m mid-way through a new design for site one. I scrapped the old design that I worked on for a week as I didn’t think it was suitable enough so now it’s turned into three sites in a week and a half.
It’s still possible I just need to get into a groove. And I also need to find some creativity or at least get over some creativity roadblocks. Stupid roadblocks.

That’s too funny.
‘We’re so busy doing business we don’t have time to make our own site.’
ROTFLMAO
… wait a second, that just might work.
For a flash of inspiration visit http://www.lucidia.com/ but don’t actually visit their office on March Street because they would probably hire you and then you would never get the three sites done.

Well to lead off I don’t want a site up without a portfolio and made the decision not to put a site up until a have a couple of sites it the portfolio that are different from each other and show some of my skills.
Basically, I didn’t want a site up that said “portfolio” then had nothing to show, good or bad.
And was the second part of your post an ad for lucidia, I respect the work they do but they ARE the competition now, although I’m probably targeting a smaller client then what they are currently accomodating. And I did apply there back in January when they were looking for someone, we can assume how that turned out ;).
And I also caught the “flash” joke, I try to stay away from it as much as possible currently as it’s either done really good or really bad, I don’t quite see an inbetween and I’d rather not bore visitors while they are waiting for a header to load every single time they click on a navigational link (this isn’t in reference to lucidia’s site but a general reference to a common flash problem).

Being a lite speed sorta gal, I LOATH flash and don’t usually sit around to wait for it to load unless I really need to see the site.
I like what you’ve done so far, though. Clean, easy to navigate, quick to load, visually appealing, good use of white space. Keep on keepin’ on.
If you want any video, let me know. I’ve got some shot, edited, credited, encoded and ready to go. Although it would take a while to load, it could be worth putting up as a pop up option for those with the luxury of high speed and limitless bandwidth. (Depending on how much bandwidth you want to use for each page, of course)
