Who Saw That Coming?

Well something quite eventful happened last week that sort of popped up out of the blue. Jes and I have been looking at houses on and off for quite some time now but never really found anything we liked (I’m super picky) and never really planned on officially buying until the Spring, well that was the “new” plan anyway. Then Wednesday rolls around and we go and look at a new house, we like the house, Jes buys the house. Yes folks, as simple as that Jes has become a home owner and I have become the loaf that sits in the house.
For some crappy pictures that I took of the place check this out.
The house is actually quite nice. There is some work that needs to be done but nothing major too immediate so that’s good. Although before we move in we plan on sanding and refinishing the hardwood floors (entire house) and painting. In the spring some other projects such as a fence for the backyard and a deck may occur.
The hard part now is furnishing the place. We have a TV, DVD player, a couple of chairs, a giant desk, a book shelf and a couple of computers. What we need is everything else
The house also has a designated office space which will become the new home of Murderfly Multimedia so I’m pretty excited about that, now let’s just hope Murderfly Multimedia starts flying pretty good so we (or I) can actually help pay for the house.

Congratulations, Curt! Moving into a new house is so much fun. I love all the hardwood.
(Note, basset hounds don’t like hardwood as much as people. Hard to get a grip when trying to jump on furniture, and when flying down stairs…they keep flying)

Sanding hardwood floors can be a nightmare if you get the wrong equipment…do a little research!

Anita: I know Dom will have troubles on the floors especially with them just being redone, the floors in Jes’ parents’ house were redone last year and if he gets excited and starts running he slides quite a bit. We have hardwood in my house currently as well but he’s pretty good on them so he might get used to it but I’m sure he’ll have quite a few tumbles.
Gabe: Jes’ dad and possibly a friend of his are going to do the floors for us. Her dad just sanding/refinished their floor not so long ago and knows what he’s doing so we should be okay.
