Mmm Tasty!

Domino’s teeth are certainly working full force now. On my best count he’s gone through 3 football toys, 1 squishy tennis ball (just today — see picture), 1 red/blue ball, countless number of margarine containers and 2 plastic 2L bottles, and cardboard rolls stolen out of the blue/yellow box (of the paper towel and toilet paper variety) plus many bones and other chewing things of that nature.
I can’t wait for his biting to calm down a bit too, hopefully the whole teething phase ends soon as well as the newly aggressive stage as he’s getting quite hyper — especially for a basset hound! His neuter date is December 6th so we’ll see if he’s a new pup after that date, we’ve started an unofficial countdown.
Besides his chewing he’s definitely getting smarter. His nose has probably come close to fully developed and he’s able to hunt down most smells now. It’s fun to watch but annoying when you’re trying to eat as he wants your food as well. We have to try to prevent him from jumping up at the table which just started happening in the past couple of days. He’s also able to jump onto the couch now which isn’t a good thing as that used to be one of the “get away spots”.
Ah the joys of having a puppy!
This post was sort of rambling but I really didn’t have one single thought I guess.

I know all about OCD chewing. Izzy should be medicated, seriously. She is bad. We have to keep her in rawhides or she’ll destroy things. She’s gone through countless pillows, clothes, toys, exterior landscaping lights, metal pipe, our deck, etc. If she’s bored and can’t find anythign to chew on she’ll chew on her own paws until they bleed.
She has gotten better with age, but she still has the paw chewing problem and the pillow/clothign problem if we leave them where she can get to ‘em.

Your post reminded me of some other “chewtastic” fun that Dom likes to do.
He steals the dish cloth any time it’s near
He’ll steal whatever article of clothing he can out of the laundry basket
He ate the cord to my drawing tablet :O

My hockey team mate just got a new puppy that promptly ate his only white jersey.
well i guess just the back of the jersey, but just one side of a jersey doesn’t really do much…

Add another toy to the list, his favourite toy for the last bit: Mr. Spinach has now bit the dust, he first ripped his leg off and now the insides are all over my office. This is great, I don’t think he has anything left.
I also forgot to mention he chewed up his very first toy the other day, ripped it’s eyes off then ate the insides, that one was a giant microbe of Bad Breath that Jes bought for him before we even took him home.

[...] Well to follow up the story I posted last night it’s only fitting that Domino has killed another one of his toys. This time it was one of his favourites in Mr. Spinach (no clue why that’s his name but that’s what we called him). [...]
