Christmas on the Cheap

Christmas is supposed to be more about giving than receiving but this year I just couldn’t “give” as much as I wanted because of the unknown financial situation for me right now and the rather large final insurance payment that needs to be in the bank by Friday (Dec 30).

Because of this I had to cut back on purchasing of gifts and unfortunately I wasn’t able to get Jes anything that I wanted to get her. I know she’s understanding of this which is great but I still feel like poop. I will make it up to her though when I’m on better footing which should be soon as the major “business” payments will be out of the way after this month so any new clients/sites I get will be “money in the bank” (besides the normal monthly server fees and things like that but its still better than that crazy insurance).

Anyway I hope everyone was able to enjoy the season to it’s fullest no matter their situation and hopefully we can keep the good spirits and great kharma moving into the new year.

You know, when you two are old and wrinkled like me you will remember this Christmas as one of the best ever.

“Remember that Christmas I couldn’t buy you anything?” you’ll say to Jes.

“We bought a house. Was that not a big enough gift!?” she’ll say. “And we went for a walk in the park to watch Dom do gross things to a Jack Russell Terrier. It was a great Christmas.”

“A great WISHMAS?!” you’ll shout at Jes.

“A great CHRISTMAS… and clear that hair out of your ears!”

Oh, and I hear you guys have earned yourselves a few cool friends as well. What better gifts could you ask for!

    HAHA.

But she’ll probably correct it and say something along the lines of.

“I bought a house and still got you something you’re just a big loafer. You haven’t paid for anything in this place and why don’t you get a real job”

    “I’m not a slob!”

Then I’ll plop down in front of the TV and put in my Sin City DVD and watch it for the kabillionth time and after that is done I’ll go to my old stand-by Spaceballs DVD and quote the entire movie for the super kabillionth time. All the while she’ll be shaking her head saying something along the lines of “I just don’t get these movies” while still staring at her Adam Sandler cutout from Mr. Deeds.

    HEHE.

Hey, I’ll bring Galaxy Quest if you let me come and watch Sin City and Spaceballs with you guys.

Hey i’m not that big of a nag! And for the record, Adam Sandler kicks any cartoon super hero’s ass any day (that also includes big head darth vader).

Also, I don’t care about getting Christmas presents. Besides, Curt got me a Beatles toy that I’ve wanted for months so that counts :)

    Thanks Curt!
