I just ran into Guy Madden and his pug on the elevator again. His dog’s name is “Spanky.” Very cute, I must say (the dog too)…though my loyalty is forever with bassets
I would go with another basset…although pugs are very cute, you are correct in saying they are extremely inbred which can lead to some major health issues…thay are also prone to respiratory problems…i have also heard they can be a bit on the aggressive side…yep…i think you should get another basset for sure…now all you have to do is decide whether to get a male or a female…
I don’t want to name the dog after another famous basset, that’s corny. So Flash from Dukes of Hazzard is out. However I do like Tod and Fred and those are famous bassets from movies and tv :S
Tod and Fred are people names….that’s no good. Might as well call it Edward. It needs to be a name with a little flair….or if you’re using a human name then make is Cameron…..great name.

Male for sure!

Why don’t you just mix the two and get one very ugly dog.
January 10th, 2006 at 2:29 pm
We were thinking that and then you can either call them Hugs or Pounds you know either one. Hugs might be more marketable however.
Although Dom is now “fixed” so no puppy making for him. EEKS. Imagine his litter, they’d be worst then termites.

Make some Hugs, psycho psycho babies! wee oooo

I like “Hugs” since basset hounds are such love pigs. Love pugs? I cannot (don’t want to) imagine what one would look like, though…

Wasn’t Love Pug an English metal band from the ’80’s??

I say get the Basset, then name it either Rosco (because I’m AWESOME), or Flash….because that’s just such a Dukes thing to do.

Oh man this is getting crazy.
And to officially announce it here hidden though we are getting a basset hound, this is confirmed. Jes has it on her blog right now.

And Darcy, we have Dom trained to attack politicians so he simply thought you were one of “them”. He’ll know for next time I promise!
