Zoom Zoom.
As you can see above I made my decision. I chose the Mazda3. Now some of you are probably sitting there saying “Whaaaaaaaaaaat” and some of you are probably saying “Woohoo Sweet Car”. Trust me, it was a hard decision and I was going back and forth for an entire week.
Here’s how today went down. I went to the Mazda dealer and test drove both cars back to back on the same route to see the difference and what I like/dislike about both.
The Mazda3: I always liked it, it’s the car I wanted for over a year. I love the looks and it drives like the little young sporty car it looks like. I didn’t notice any major difference in the drivability between the 3 and the 6 so this didn’t become a factor. The 3 was more agile on the road I guess though (smaller car and all). Surprisingly enough the 3 had more “cabin storage” space. The glove compartment is huge, the centre console has tonnes of little compartments etc. And the trunk is a good size for a number of suitcases and the extra items we bring back. The back seats might be a little tight for passengers but 1. I’m not riding back there and 2. I haven’t taken any major trips with passengers and don’t really plan to for the next couple of years anyway.
The Mazda6: The main thing keeping me going back to it was the comfort level of the seats. The driver seat was also 8-way adjustable so you could find that perfect fit. But I’m young, I can find comfort later on.
After sitting at the dealer for about an hour and a half and making an appointment to go in on Monday with my mind made up (I was still going back and forth a bit) I finally made a decision. As we were walking out to the cars just to put a hold sign on the Mazda3 I guaranteed it and said SOLD. So we flipped the sign around and Mr. Mazda3 is mine. The better part is I’ll probably be driving it off the lot either Tuesday or dun dun dun Wednesday, also known as my birthday.
I forgot to mention when I actually submitted this (30 seconds ago). The car I bought looks pretty close to the one in the picture, same colour and it has the moon roof as well.
Now the only question is… what did you get me? ![]()

Tell you what, for your birthday I’ll let you drive me around in your new car to places like Loplops to listen to local musical artists. How’s that sound?

*drools*
I’m so jealous, I’m still driving a Ford Taurus. As soon as, I move into the new house, I plan on getting a new car as well. But, that may be later down the line. By the way, great choice, I love it.

Thanks Tarelle. It’s been my car dream for a year and now I get it in under 24 hrs. Oh man. Excitement.
