An actual conversation held today between me and my mother:

Mother: “Did you hear, Sting is playing Kewadin Casino this summer”
Me: “Sting? Sting is coming too?”
Mother: “Sting” (this time emphasizing the hard g sound) “Stin-guh Stin-guh”
Me: “Yeah, Sting is coming too? Sting?”
Mother: “Yeah. The full band in full costume and everything!”
Me: “Um… do you mean Kiss?”
