Cowbell Concerto performed by Ed Young and Cliff Alloy

7 cowbells… 2 percussionists… the cowbell concerto.

The promise was fulfilled and I’m sure everyone went home happy on Thursday night. The promise I talk about is one made by Ed Young to myself promising “More Cowbell” at the next Ed and Cliff percussionist show as they had a total lack of cowbell at the first one. A few weeks prior Ed informed me that he had a “cowbell contraption” in the works that he was going to bring in for the show and there it was in all its beautiful cowbell glory — until they played it. I don’t think the cowbell contraption was made for the heavy playing that it received. After having two percussionists beat on it simultaneously for a couple of minutes it started to crumble, bolts were flying and bars were falling but the concerto went on like all good concertos should.

Also on this night Jay Case sat in for a few songs as well as Lord Lindsay “I’ll play with my back to the audience” Pugh. The number of instruments on stage played by Ed and Cliff were too many to mention and besides I don’t know the names of half of them.

The show was great as always and the pictures turned out pretty good as well.
