February 25 - Two Bands, Awesome Photography

Saturday February 25th marked my first photography chance at Algoma University’s Speak Easy pub. That shots from this night were simply amazing and I account it to either the combination of solid stage lighting and a black background or I just super improved that much in one day.
Playing on the night were Startlefish and the Chris Belsito Band. This was the second night out for the new look Startlefish and they were already down a member as Felipe called in sick (maybe he knew what the turnout was going to be like). Also joining Startlefish for a few songs on the night were Nick Jackson and Andy Jackson of I.T. fame. The Chris Belsito Band were also missing a member (Lindsay Pugh) and featured regulars Chris Belsito, James Case, Ed Young and Craig West on bass duties instead of his usual guitar.

It just so happened that on the night I had two very similar “Rock Star” poses performed by James Case and Craig West but the only question is, who has the better rock star pose?

I vote for Case. In this case anyway.
You have a nice Bambi-caught-in-headlights pose in a shot in my gallery, Curt. And why don’t you do crowd shots? With your equipment, you could probably catch any number of people picking their noses or what ever without them even ever knowing.

I think the picture you have of me up on Sootoday is reason enough for me not to do audience shots.
Also shooting without the flash I wouldn’t pick up any audience members and then adding the flash to take their shots I’d end up blinding audience members so I take the happy medium and leave them alone

Well, we both pose well and I think it would normally be neck to neck … however … since Jay had specially designed ventilated pants that it really took balls to wear, I am going to vote for him … not sure if you can really tell from this picture, but Jay’s pants were way more rock and roll.

I THINK THEY ARE BOTH ROCKSTAR POSES AND ARE EQUALLY ROCKSTARISH…..HOWEVER SEEING AS HOW I AM THE WIFE OF JAY CASE I GUESS I HAVE TO VOTE FROM HIM…..CRAIG I THINK YOU ARE A ROCKSTAR AS WELL. AND SEXY AT THAT!!!….

I think it’s a tie… Craig has the meaner look on his face and the black t-shirt (classic rock and roll attire)… but Jay hass the more natural looking pose (he walks around the house posing like that…I’ve seen it…second nature for him, really)… I cannot choose… to prove who is more rock and roll, let’s see which one can OD on herion and survive the most times, a la Nikki Sixx…

Based on knee bend, I think I have to vote for Case, although he IS shorter, so maybe that’s actually an up-right pose….hmm….

I have to vote for Craig because: a) nobody has voted for him yet; b) his pants seem really high on his waist and he doesn’t care; c) we can’t allow Jay to win or it will go to his head - sorry friend, it is in your best interest.

If I wanted to win I would just ask Belsito to post the video he shot, but I will be gracious and once again vote for Jay. Didn’t say we couldn’t vote twice.

Based on the high-pants evidence put forward by Mr. Belsito, I would like to change my vote…..I now vote for High Pants.

I’d be willing to post the video if Mr. Belsito so decides to send it my way.
My verdict is still out. Are we now voting on pose or pant height? And what is the correlation to pant height and age? And like Jes said, is Case hiding his pant height with the untucked shirt thus hiding his inner-oldfolk age?

well, after sitting back and watching you people tear craig and i to pieces (nice nickname, donna….shall we throw a link here to the photo of yourself and pat gladu “schwing action”?….your pants actually covered your nipples for that one)….i’ve decided to lay it all to rest. my pants are definitely not higher than craigs….i don’t have pants with that kind of length from beltline to inseam….i didn’t think they made them like that, my christ!
but craig is definitely the more “rock and roll” looking….i am actually afraid of the face he’s giving…..it looks like he’s asking “who’s fuckin next, bitch?”. also, i actually posed for the shot, that’s how craig plays guitar……watch him one night, he’s a constant photo op….the boy’s got moxy.
now make fun of belsito, he deserves it.

I actually did have a picture of Belsito in the same pose but his pants were pulled way up over his face and all you could see was his slick hairdo so I didn’t know if anyone would recognize him.
