V For Fantastic

Okay, I did get to go see the movie on openning night, WOOHOO!

I loved it, parts were changed and it took a little while getting used to the “talking mask” but besides that it was great. Basically it lived up to the expectations I had for it.

Jes and Ross also came along for the journey and they both said they really liked it as well — which I see as good as they’ve never read the graphic novel and Jes was skeptical of the movie going into it.

I’m not going to sit here and “ruin” anything etc. If you liked the book chances are you’ll like the movie. If you haven’t read the book you’ll like the movie although some information is dropped which are kind of nice to know I guess. Key things are switched around a bit from novel to movie (ending and some other things) but it all still works.

So go out and watch it dammit.

And the man who plays V is the same guy who did the voice for Rex the Male Sheepdog in Babe: Pig in the City!!!!! Wow!

[...] Based on this review alone, I had to see go and see for myself. The movie itself was another comic adaptation, and for the most part it stayed true to the original story (exceptions, here). The message was spot on, democracy requires citizens–the absence of which, in the not too distant virtual world of England leads to a tyrannical big brother-esque government. My my, what striking parallels the Wachowski Bro’s paint between their world and ours. Posted by rabsteen Filed in General, film [...]

This movie was wicked awesome. I walked out with plans to blow up the white house, but then I was like “Not my country.”

Now that is dedication to freedom.

    viva la revolucion!
