Jumping The Shark?

It can be debated whether The Simpons have jumped the shark or not but for some this may be the final nail in the jumping the shark coffin for others it gives them more reasons to geek out.

I hear that the movie will mark the final season for The Simpsons. I will be somewhat lost without it. Even thought I am not as die-hard as I used to be, it’s nice to know that it is always there on Sunday nights, ready for me to watch, no matter what.

For all those inquiring minds regarding “jumping the shark” wikipedia has the answer. And really Ross, you’ve been using the Internet how long and you couldn’t Google it? Anyway the links above tell the story.
As far as the last season tie-in with the movie it’s basically a rumour at this moment however Groening was stated (a couple years back) as saying that when The Simpsons is on its final legs a movie will probably come out. Time will tell on this one I believe.

Bahhhh the internets for geeks…..I prefer to morse code most of my inquiries to suitable bespectacled big whigs in England who sit in coffee shops and drink tea, talking about this and that, but mostly that…..and fox hunts….

It’s funny because on the Simpsons they usualy make fun of T.V shows that go to the Big Screen. I love the Simpsons and will probably watch the movie, but they are being a bit hypocritical.
I do agree with Ross, technology be dammed. Long live the luddites!!!!

The Simpsons have been on their way out for years. They’ve just lost their edge over the past couple of seasons. I love the show, but better to see it die with some dignity than to fizzle out in a little puff of smoke.
Also, curt, you’re only the 2nd person I’ve ever known to use that term/know what it means.
Also, also, I’m looking forward to the Futurama DVD movie in ‘07. I’d love to see them bring that show back.

Cartoon Sitcoms are great. There is creativity, art and great writting involved in them. Such a great alternative to Reality T.V which has non of the above.

Funniest comment ever. Okay maybe not ever but still made me laugh quite a bit. I think it was timing… or was it the delivery.
