Maximum Cowbell

Anita sent me this article in an email this morning so now I have decided to share — because I’m cool like that.
The article is from the Globe and Mail and is titled You Gotta Have More Cowbell, Baby! from the SNL skit Behind the Music: Blue Oyster Cult and this article here features an interview with Eric Bloom lead singer of Blue Oyster Cult about the skit.
The aritcle (Globe and Mail one) is about a new compilation CD titled Maximum Cowbell which contains 16 tracks all featuring the cowbel. Now how isn’t that an awesome CD?

Does anyone remember a more recent episode of SNL where Will Ferrell jumps up on stage with the band that is playing and plays cowbell? It was hilarious…and appealing. Oh, found it. The band was Queens of the Stone Age, and this happened in May last year when Will was guest hosting. It was fairly awesome

Yeah I remember that fondly. Will actually came out in the same “get up” he was wearing for the other skit. The song Queens of the Stone Age were playing is called Little Sister and actually features cowbell throughout it. Little Sister was the first single off their newest CD that they were there promoting so it was quite the coincidence how it all worked out.
