What A Glorious Email

Today sitting at work hating my job as usual then an email came into my inbox that change my mood tenfold.

As you may recall I stated I would no longer discuss my job unless something came along that changed it drastically — this email did just that.

I received an email from the guy in charge of development stating that he had a talk with my boss and he told him I wanted to get into the development area of the company and I hated what I was doing. This discussion came about after I talked with my boss last week and told him straight up that I hated what I was doing and that I was starting to explore other options. Anyway the email then went on to say that I’d be moving over to development in a short while and somebody would be coming to my current location so I could train them there.

Was this too good to be true? I didn’t hear anything directly from my boss so I called him. It was true, it is true.

Turns out come end of the month (the earliest) I’ll be leaving the job I truly hate behind and moving into a development role. When where I get to program, one where I can code and use my brain and my knowledge and even the skills I acquired getting my degree. I’ll be in the vicinity of people who share a common knowledge of computers and I can “talk shop” with. I was overjoyed.

The people I was talking to on instant messenger at the time realized this as well as I couldn’t contain myself. I’m just hoping that the time comes soon and that I will enjoy it there. It can’t be worst than what I’m doing now, can it?

So it’s been a good week in regards to the computer end of things. I made quite the new order yesterday and now this information today. Too bad the dogs couldn’t cooperate but that’s another story all together.
