A Hospital Visit
Posted in General by CujoMay 11th, 2006 - 3:11 PM
Well I’ve been having these chest/back pains on and off for a couple of days. Went for about two hours on Sunday then again really bad today at work. I finally broke down and decided to go to the hospital, 3 hours, an ECG and a two chest X-Rays later the doctor tells me I’m okay and can leave.
He informs me that it is possibly work related stress (hmmm possibly??!!) or cause from extraneous activity (I was removing trees this weekend) and in any event if it happens again to go to my family doctor but if it happens and I can’t breathe to go to the hospital.
So here I am, back at work hoping I can survive. Yay for survival!

I hope you feel better soon. DON’T go to a hospital if you can possibly avoid it. You’ll walk/crawl in much healthier than when you leave, I assure you. Too many sick people. Brrrrr!
(Maybe you just need a good laugh? Tune into http://www.hohmannbecker.com sometime late Friday night…. You’ll laugh, Cujo. Yes, you will…

Thanks Les, I’ll try to keep a lookout.
Considering I work in a semi-hospital type setting (old age/long term care home) the hospital is a nice change.
As an update I went to the chiropractor sort of after work (what should have been after work) and he said I had my 5th rib displaced and some other fancy jargon talk. A pinched nerve, some ligament stuff and something else. He did whatever and so far so good… hopefully.

take good care of that stuff.

Hey Curt, I hear that eating lots of bacon, eggs, donuts, milkshakesd, butter and coffee with 18% cream will help those chest pains. Then when they happen again, just do a little excercise to work the pain out of your system. I don’t know, word on the street says it helps.

Mmmm… donuts.
But really, I don’t eat the “heathiest” but I am extremely healthy (damn you metabolism). They did the whole blood pressure thing yesterday and I was awesome. And if you’ve read my updated comment you’d see the chiropractor said he thinks it was a displaced rib so we’ll see how this turns out.

We eat okay. We need to eat a bit better though (like actual MEALS). My goal for 2006 is to make Curt eat a green bean.

Canadian Mark could help with that, Jes. He does all the cooking here… and in the warmer months he mainly makes “Carpet Picnics” which consist of every colour of fruit and veg available, chopped up and served raw. Ky and I are forced to eat “healthier” because we’re too damned lazy to fry an egg for ourselves when all that food is laid out like a smorg… Green beans go well in a smorg….
