May 19 - Granola People - Loplops Lounge Well it’s been a long time coming but I’ve finally uploaded the photo gallery of the Granola People show from Friday May 19th. I got my first intake of Granola back during the Christmas break and I was quite impressed and for a first I didn’t have my camera (only show during that time I think). So this show I made up for it and brought the camera out and sat front row for all the Granola goodness I could have. Alright I’m just trying to be clever now and failing miserably but on a related note I had a chocolate chip granola bar at work today, I must say it was the best part of my day at work.

Well head on over to the gallery of Granola People and then slide back here and let me know what you think.

Edit: Wow, I forgot to title this post the first time around.

First, I like the photos, that camera of yours kicks ass! Secondly, I didn’t realize that the Granola people where still around, like I knew they must be somewhere, but I didn’t realize that they were still actually playing together. And it looks like the common granola denominator is still Frank.

These photos remind me that all I do it work and have an early bedtime. It’s like youââ?¬â?¢re on the cusp of soosound’dom.

I hate you but I love you Cujo. *coy smile*

Now, all you have to do it get some photo’s of the “Pirate of the St. Marys” and the music circle will be complete.

Yeah, they are still kicking around, play when Andrew comes back to town. This show had Andrew and Frank Granolafying the crowd with help from Lindsey Pugh and Cliff Alloy — special guest Sheldon Jaaskalainen who arrived near the end of the show. I think I overheard them saying Andrew was coming back to town (for good maybe?) in the near future… maybe Frank will swing by to clear this up.

For the majority of covers they pulled out Frank would switch from acoustic to banjo which made for some great songs, picture All Along the Watch Tower with a banjo lead. Exactly.

As far as the “cusp of soosound’dom” Craig West has given me the title of “the ever observant local music historian” as well as some others. Maybe one day I’ll be able to get out and catch the Pirate in action.

If only I can turn all of this into a job somehow :S HAHA.

And as far as getting out for the shows I’m mostly out of the house once every two weeks depending on if the local folkle are playing somewhere (and I’m asked nicely to attend).

I’m glad the Granola People are still playing. I think the released their first album with Andrew Muncaster in 96 or 97.

Good band, im glad you posted them on the blog.

I think Frank was still trying to sell it when they played. He had a big bag of CDs anyway. I’m not sure how many they released but he had a bag of them that he was trying his best to get rid of.

Look at that Frank (and Andrew) I started a new “where are the Granola People” following in the Soo of people who thought you guys died.

Oh my GAWD! I didn’t even recognize Andrew. I was looking at the Camp McD shirt but the beard…? WOW! It’s been a LONG time since I’ve seen him. WOW!

hi curt - thanks for taking and posting these photos - some nice shots.
yes, andrew is moving back in the summer - we hope to be recording/releasing a new cd by next christmas.
the cd i was peddling the other night was our latest effort: “blair” - which was released in 2004. the first disc came out in ‘96, but there were a couple of cassettes before that (’93, ‘95)
that’s it for gp trivia for now…thanks for the interest.
    take care,
    frank
