A Hockey and Gas Coincidence?

As my car has been getting low on gasoline for the past week I’ve been watching all of the gas station signs change as I drive by on my way to and from work.Ã? Lately these signs have been changing every time I look at them and changing in a good way in that they are moving down.
For example last week around this time gas in this area (Northern Ontario for those of you not familiar with where I am) was at about $1.08 CDN/litre, I filled up yesterday at lunch for $0.981 CDN but on my way to work yesterday it was $0.987 and today I was looking at signs reading $0.977 so in the span of a week it has gone down $0.10.Ã? That seems quite a bit with the crazy fluctuations we’ve been having and also how gas has been stuck at over $1 for awhile (oh the good ole days of $0.70).
What the hell is the point you’re asking?Ã? Well I’ve coincided the fall of gas prices with the rise of the Edmonton Oilers’ surge to the Stanley Cup Finals.Ã? Has anybody else noticed that the better the Oilers have been doing the gas keeps going down?Ã? For those unaware Edmonton (and Alberta) just happens to be where all the oil fields (for gas) happen to be in Canada so wth that being said I think if all Canadians weren’t cheering for them before they better start doing it now.Ã? Just think of what our gas prices can be if they win the Cup!
Also if this trend continues we better hope for a quick start to the CFL season so we can all cheer for the Edmonton Eskimos and the start/conclusion of any of sporting franchise in Edmonton as well.

I also noticed that as W Bush kept on invading countries the gas prices went up. So I enrourage you all to kill George W Bush before he invades another country and our gas goes up again.
Somethings the Edmonton Oilers cant control.

$0.10/wk? pfffft. It changes that much (US) in a day here!

Anita: Hmm, Gretzky for Premier you say — now that he’s signed on for another 5 years of coaching the Coyotes I think we have a long wait.
Darcy: This post was in jest and I’d rather stay away from political scum in posts and comments and anything else.
Kelli: 1 Gallon = just under 4 litres. Remember your conversions
and also the exchange rate (which is going down) but I can go over the river (to the US) and get gas at $2.80 or whatever it was at and save myself money (after bridge fair and exchange added on).

[...] Earlier today I made a post in reference to the gas prices going down as the Edmonton Oilers drive to the Cup progresses and soon after Darcy came on with a comment in regards to George Bush and the price of gas increasing: “I also noticed that as [George] W Bush kept on invading countries the gas prices went up…” [...]
