Blogelation Is Born

Check out blogelation - Guerilla News

The idea started Thursday and the site is completed today. Not a bad turn around for a quick idea site for an event less than a week away.

blogelation is a very simple idea that Craig and I had as a way to provide more coverage for the local music scene here in town. With no affiliation to any formal news organization blogelation will try to bring a unique point of view to any event it covers. Currently blogelation features eight bloggers and one podcast who will cover the Second Stage at RotaryFest this Thursday and Friday for any time period that the particular blogger/podcaster feels like covering. They are then free to take photography, conduct interviews, provide an editorial or shoot some video then put this all on display on their own respective blogs. blogelation organizes the bloggers but the bloggers are free to do and say whatever they want with no strings attached.

Because of the short turn around time the site may be a bit buggy and it doesn’t quite feature everything we want. We’ll consider the Second Stage event to be it’s test case and if it deems to be successful we will organize to cover more events and perfect the site for ease of use and content distribution.

So check it out and let us know what you think.

EDIT: I forgot to publicly thank Jeannette for making the awesome logo and banner ads for us in such a short time as well.Ã?Â

[...] Very cool things have been happening here in the Saultite Blogoshpere of late. Local bloggers are uniting for the first time, in some unrestricted mass orgy of gonzo and independent journalism that is Blogelation. Sounds like a good time, right? In reality, it’s like 9 X-wings going up against a fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers. Not the local bulk cruisers, mind you, but the big Corilian Ships. You’re damn right it’s going to be a good time! [...]

Great idea guys. Good way of providing media coverage for local music.

Thanks Darcy we were thinking of creating a reality TV show featuring the Sault scene but thought you’d like this idea better.

I would vote yes on a reality show, as long as we can work Gordon Ramsay from Hell’s Kitchen in some how.
