Problogger’s Writing Project - My Summary Links

As part of the Problogger Group Writing Project you had to read through the posts which not only gave you exposure to other blogs but also to their thoughts/ideas on what they’d change. I learned more in this reading process than in my first year of blogging. Below you’ll find my “top reads” and it just so happened to be 10 links. I didn’t plan that but that is what happened. Under that you’ll find a “listed” section and those are sites that had me listed on their blogs — it’s kind of gratifying knowing that something I wrote helped someone else out.

If you want to check out my original post on this topic you can view it here: Kill Fifty Birds with One Stone.

Top Reads (for me):
There is only one thing I would have changed - by Eric
This made the list as I think I agree with his “start earlier” idea. I’m also an entrepreneur and the site seems to be geared toward “us types”.

My wabisabi blog - by ricemutt
Solid advice for anyone starting up or already running, best words in the blog “Thereââ?¬â?¢s no such thing as a perfect blog, even to its owners.”

3 changes I would make and 3 I would not - by Joe
I like this one moreso for his advice on what he wouldn’t change, there’s solid advice in there for people looking at creating inbound links.

I’m not a Problogger but… - by Andrew
I included this one as like me he’s not a problogger and for this revelation in his post “I had the vague and mistaken impression that blogs didnââ?¬â?¢t carry worthwhile content” especially after the work I’ve been doing with blogelation and another project in the works.

Blogging to Infinity and Beyond - by Ken
In my early readings he had one of the best pieces of advice “blogging should be fun”.

Gee, That’s a Funny Domain Name - by Ella
Unlike me liking my “funny domain name” Ella takes a different approach. I know when I tell people about this domain they get confused and ask questions but I also think it has that “remembering” factor.

Wanted: DeLorean - If I had to start my blog over again - by Leon
He probably has one of the better Blogger templates I’ve seen but he also shares the thought of “I wish I found ProBlogger sooner”.

Three Months of Getting Rich Slowly - by J.D. Roth
I share in most of what he says and I’m currently attempting to follow that route with a new blog I’m working on (it seems it’s always in the “working” on stage now but it’ll be up soon).

12 things I would do if I had to start my blog over again - by JohnTP
A solid 12 step program for blogging or starting to blog or to stop drinking, okay maybe it’s not that 12 step program.

Would I care if I made $0.00 - by Adnan
I laughed when I read his “I’d check Adsense all day long” part of his post. When I first installed Adsense I was checking it every hour or so seeing if people were clicking on my ads. I know better now. I check it weekly now and usually see no change and that’s expected with the “aim” of this site. The ads are there more as an experiment than anything else. However, I do check those stats often — I’m an addict what can I say.
