Blogelatioin: Busker Cabaret

For those of you who got in, the Busker Cabaret portion of Buskerfest was an evening filled of laughs to say the least. Pictured above is Slackhopper, one of the main organizers of Buskerfest and a member of blogelation getting her leg lit on fire by Ivan.
Ivan wasn’t done there however, he then decided to light his assistant Jessica’s back on fire because a leg isn’t really that much surface flesh.
And filed under if you don’t know don’t ask category I give you Trulee Odd with balancing a guy on his head and a girl on his front and doing it nearly naked.
My vantage point was more off to the side (back door area of Loplops where the buskers were coming in and hanging out) and because of this I was shooting into some of the lights and was fighting with the camera most the night. When it was time for the break dancers to come on their quick moves just couldn’t be captured sharply but I still like the effect on some of the photos. The Sault’s very own Easy Ed and Big Craig Mac (although initially Julio was stumped for a nickname for the name “Craig West”) laid down the funky beats as the breakers did their thing. They clearly loved the live music as well as heard from their exclamations while leaving after their set.
Startlefish closed out the night with a killer set (I’ll take the liberty at saying the set was killer even though we had to leave after the first couple of songs as exhaustion was setting in).
EDIT: Wow after all of that I forgot to link to my photo gallery — you know you can click on the photo gallery link and see a lot more photos right?

Excellent. I had been hoping somebody got a picture of the flaming SlackHopper. I should have known I could count on you.
But what am I doing waiting around here? I’m off to check out your photo gallery - actually I have to catch up on your last three days of pics.

“The Flaming Slackhopper”…it’s a horrible affliction. Remember kids; always use protection…

I have given up trying to emulate you people. Those shots are unreal. I don’t have the “stuff” to get low-light shots from the distance I was at, neither will my DoNKeY-cam’s shutter speed deal with breakdancing in the dark OR fire. If I’d had the guts to get closer to the stage, I may have got some better pics, but I didn’t think “Flaming Blogger” was an acceptable part of the show considering Ivan had already set his requisite number of people alight…

Yay — somebody is actually going to look at the galleries — I seriously don’t think many do.
Slackhopper — that’s just nasty.
Les — I took a lot of pics and selected the better ones. A lot of it is the equipment as well. I’m not that good. The camera does A LOT of the work.
