Weekends: Do You Blog?

Being the stat hungry geek that I am I notice that my stats usually dip quite a bit on weekends. I also notice that the posts I do make on the weekends gather very little comments, it’s not like a lot of my posts gather a lot of comments in the first place but the weekend ones seem to suffer the most.

Do you blog on weekends?

In that quesiton I’m using blog as a two way definition, blog by creating your own posts on your blog and blog in the sense of viewing the other blogs in your RSS feed reader or in your bookmarks.

I know I’m probably more information obsessed then most — well most regular non-geeks — so I’m curious as to whether people blog on the weekends or is it something you do to past time while you’re at work? I think it’s time to fess up because we all know you do it to kill time in those “quiet lulls” that happen during the work day. If we didn’t blog during work a lot of blogs wouldn’t be too active.

I’m usually always searching out my regular read blogs and notice that a lot of the casual ones aren’t updated during the weekends but then on the flip side a lot of the “professional” ones are updated every day and sometimes multiple times a day, weekend or not. I know there’s a difference between a casual blogger and a professional blogger but what is it that prevents the casual bloggers from not posting on the weekend, I’d assume there’s more time in order to sit down at the computer and put thought and effort into a post but then again, why post on the weekends when you can get paid for doing it at work?

So when exactly do you blog?

I think I write most of my stuff on the weekends, but probably read most during the week - on my lunch breaks.

I don’t think t hre’s a pattern on mine. the amount of blogging I do is directly proportional to the amount and type of work I have to do. If I have a lot of interesting things, I write a lot. If I have a lto of boring things, I don’t write at all. if I have a medium workload, I blog on a normal pace.

Some blogs I read weekly, some daily.

Mostly I blog just before work in the morning. Sort of gets my brain going for the day. Second would be on those (now rare) days at work where there is nothing to do (this has happened perhaps twice in the last six months). Weekends only if I have nothing to do (which is rarely the case).
