I Own Basset Hounds

If I’m out walking again and hear one more person say “Look at the cute beagles” I might just snap.

They are distinctly Basset Hounds, especially when both are walking together. This isn’t a one time occurrence either, usually one or two people will make that comment on our regular walks.

I just had to get that off my chest.

    I suggest a “They are NOT beagles” t-shirt instead.

    Hmm… either could work but I think a more direct shirt such as:

    “My BASSET HOUNDS think YOU are a MORON”

    but that might be too long of a sentence for them to read. Considering they are looking at the dogs maybe they need shirts where on their back it says:

    “We eat beagles”

    it might get the point across. Hmm…

    Haha, I love it! Hmmm…mind you, Copper’s best friend is beagle from across the lane.

    We used to get “It that a weiner dog?” from kids (we would answer no, he’s much bigger–more like a sausage dog. This is where Sausage in my books got his name from).

    Yeah we get the wiener dog thing too. More with Fozzie though as he’s now looking like a miniature-Basset if there ever was such a thing. It’s funny seeing Domino and Fozzie together because even though they are the same breed from the same parents they are two totally different sizes and two totally different dogs.

    Maybe you can write your next book about Sausage, Copper, Domino and Fozzie and a great adventure they have. It might be a “slow” adventure in the Basset sense of slow but I’m sure it’d be fun.

    when ever I walk Milhouse, I get, “Is that like the Fraser dog?”…annoying…Milhouse is WAAAYYYY cuter than Eddie from Fraser…

    But at least they have the breed right… you’re not getting asked if it’s Flash from Duke’s of Hazzard.
