Greeting Cards: Where are the humourus wedding cards

After work today I went to the nearest Hallmark store to buy a wedding card for a wedding I’m attending tomorrow. I quickly found the sappy wedding section where every card was decked out in sparkles, hearts and fancy cut edges but every card basically said the exact same thing — boring!

So I continued my search throughout the store looking for the funny wedding card section. I found alternate wedding cards that I assume are to be funny but they simply aren’t. They are more cute or not mushy but definitely not funny.

Why are there no funny wedding cards?

If I was opening up present after present I’d just stop reading the same lame cards after awhile and just check to see who the present was from and carry on however if the cards were humourous or had the possibility of being humourous I’d be looking at each one. I’ve never been married or to a gift opening gala after the wedding but I’m sure it gets pretty monotonous after awhile, why can’t we spice it up with comedic wedding cards?

Maybe I found a new call for my below average drawing skills and my above average wit — I’m allowed to think my wit is above average if I’m able to put down my drawing skills.

Curt, go see my friend Elizabeth Creith at Anamalia in the…oh heck, memory fails–the mall across from the Water Tower Inn. The Zellers Plaza, I think. She is an amazing artist, and does quite a few hand made cards. Plus she has a wicked sense of humour :-)

As a matter of fact, call there now (in case she is there).

Not sure what she’ll charge you, but it won’t break the bank. Whatever it is, believe me, is worth it.

    Tell her I sent you.

    Hey Anita,

Thanks for that but too late. I already bought the “funny” card and that’s what we’re giving them.

As far as drawing/wit combined it’d be to make my own line of cards. I already sometimes make homemade cards for other people so why not make a profit now ;)

I don’t think anyone will buy your cards you make with pencil and lined binder paper….sorry dude.

For the record I would use printer paper and a magic marker or possibly a Sharpie.

I would go all out and choose sharpie. That’s just me.
