End Of A Chapter

At four o’clock today a stress inducing, deteriorating, hating where I am in my life chapter ended entering into what hopefully will be a small chapter of mini stress of paying the bills.

At four o’clock today by boss “let me go”. It is sort of bad timing with the time of year and the bills that are due at the start of the new year but in a way it’s relief. I haven’t been happy for awhile and the job was part of that, I simply didn’t like it and didn’t like the situation. It is now time to move on.

I’m currently looking for full/part time work elsewhere in order to pay the bills that I mentioned above. I’m also going to use this time to reviatlize I’m A Mac as well as possibly get another project off the ground that I’ve wanted to do for awhile. On the surface the web sites I’ve mentioned above don’t look like a “way” of getting money but I’m hoping they will turn into content based sites which inturn move into Adsense based sites where I’m able to make a minimal profit from that — it’s doable as others have done it before, it’ll just be a lot of basic work.

In essense you can consider me a “professional” blogger for the next little bit until I get some more leads on other jobs.

Murderfly Multimedia
is still alive and kicking as well but has slowed down drastically as I think the money pots have ran clean at the end of the year as well. So if you need a site or some site work, let me know we can work something out I’m sure. And don’t forget that photography, I’m not that bad I swear, check the Photo Gallery on this site if you don’t believe me.

Gawd, does that suck or what? Could he have picked a better time to do that? Or that just me? Like hello…x-mas is 12 days away. I bet his black black heart didn’t even feel a thing, that rotton bastard! Now, on the flip side you’ve been complaining about your job for as long as I have been reading you blog and I’ve been here for a while. Think of all of the fabulous things you’ll be able to and it sounds like you’ve have a plan. I say take it easy for a couple of days, grow a beard, wear your jammies to pick up Tim’s, eat chips, watch some movies, take several naps. You’ll feel renewed and ready to kick some blogging ass and generate some semi/demi-serious moola.

    Thanks for the words Queen.

I already have a beard ;) and well Tims is out for now as well as any other unnecessary “buys”. But maybe some walks for the hounds during the day (if it’s not raining, what’s up with that?) and some focused energy on other movements will turn everything around.

    Aww I’m sorry bud.
But look at the good side, this can also be a godsend. Maybe you find a great job, something you’ll love and pays great. Heck it’s alot better then regretting goign into work everyday for a job you don’t give a crap about, right?

Chin up Curt. As you said, you hated the job. Hmm. Do you think your ex-boss reads your blog? In any case, I know two people who left jobs in this last year that they didn’t enjoy, and good things happened for both of them. You’re at the top of a new year. What a terrific time for a change!

Thansk for the words guys. I definitely think it’s a “good” thing it’s just the paying of “start of the year” bills that will hit us the hardest, if we can get through that I’m sure we should be okay.

This is pretty much the situation we were in back in August. Richard was let go from a job he hated, but we desperately needed the money from it to pay the bills.

Things were stressful for a month or so there and we had to hit the folks up for a mortgage payment (which sucked, but eh, stuff happens), but he found him a part-time job that he didn’t hate to get us by and now has an application in on a really great job that could be a good long-term career for him (the only down side would be a month away from home for training). We’re keeping fingers crossed that it works out, but I know for a fact he never would have thought to apply for it without losing the other job. Even if it doesn’t, he’s still happier now than he was before, which is worth the pay cut, really.

Something will work otu for you, I’m sure. Things may be rough for a bit, but in the end, I think you’ll end up a lot happier and it will all be worth while.

So should I just give my Aunt Marilee your home number then so she can call you everyday? Just kidding…..But I think this is a blessing in disguise - so much time and freedom to develop the business more, the photography, etc. The rest have said all the real inspirational stuff though, so ditto for me too.

And I can really get her to call you if you want….;)

You guys are so positive. I guess that’s because you don’t know how huge our bills really are. Keep in mind that I only work part time!!! :)

But I see it as a positive thing as well. He was getting pretty moody and I was getting sick of hearing all the wah wah wahs.

    Hopefully things turn around soon.

I’m happy you got “let go” because very few of us stupid humans actually have to balls o get out of jobs we hate unless we’re forced out. It’s a blessing in disguise, trust me.

It sucks that we’re ruled by the all mighty dollar, but in order to exist in reality, they must be earned. In order to fullfill our inate creative sides, the all mighty dollar often gets in the way. A double edged sword, as it were.

Life sucks and often sucks the life out of us, but at least your icky job no longer will.

Now get going on these projects, dammit!

Oh, I dunno, Jes. I can relate to huge bills. I mean, I don’t know how huge your bills actually are, but I’ve been in spots before where i’ve had the the phone, electricity or the water shut off and was a day away from the mortgage company foreclosing on my house a couple of times. It’s not pretty, but I’ve been there and I can definitely relate to the stress!

I’ll tell you what I’ve learned, though. No matter how bad things get, in the end, they always work out. Maybe not the way you anticipated, and it may be hard getting to that point, but eventually you do get there. Sure, it may suck along the way, but nothing bad lasts forever. You have your health. You have each other. You have Curt no longer stuck in a job he hates. You have good friends that care about you. The rest will get sorted out. It may take a while and it may get rough along the way, but you’ll come through fine.
