illScarlett at the Speak Easy

This Tuesday illScarlett played one hell of a show at the Speak Easy — it is unfortunate that more people did not show up for it. I had the pleasure of obtaining a press pass for the event and I thought I’d use the opportunity to the best of my ability. I believe these are some of the best shots I’ve taken in awhile.

Once again I shot the show strictly using a 50mm lens and performed no post-processing on the images (no cropping, colour adjusting etc). I did try out the 20mm for a bit but it just wasn’t giving the results I wanted.

I have a problem with not knowing what shots to actually put on display. For this show I shot over 350 pictures and just finished the task of going through and deciding what I think are the best ones. I might have just given a photography secret away by letting you know the number of shots I took.

You cannot expect to take 10 shots and end up with 10 great shots - unless you are just that good at photography but chances are you are not. The more shots you take the better the likelihood it is you will have some pictures to choose from.

One day I’d like to have someone come over and slide through pictures with me. Mostly to see if they would choose different pictures to display or not. I also like to put a large number of pictures in the galleries as people like different things and why not show people a lot (even if some of it might not be the best) rather than just a little.

Check out the gallery below and be sure to come back and comment to let me know what you think.

Nice shots Curt. :) That was a great show. They’ll be back, and this time it’ll be packed.
