Better Than Crabs

Above is an advertisment that recently popped up on my computer — yes I’m running Firefox and it catches most but some still sneak through — anyway I couldn’t help but laugh.

I did resize the ad to fit my dimensions for the blog but if you’re able to read it you can see that it states a registry cleaner is recommended and that errors in my Windows registry may cause erratic behaviour etc.Ã? It follows it all up with stating I should download the trial version of the software which I’ll assume after it scans informs you that you have multiple errors and that you must pay in order to activate the software.

I’m on a Mac so seeing these ads makes me laugh — even moreso than when I was on my PC.Ã? But thinking about it these ads must excist because people are stupid enough to fall for them.Ã? I know there’s better looking “Windows error message” ads out there as well.

When will people learn?

I haven’t updated in about a week and a half.Ã? I’ve been busy.Ã? Really busy trying to finish projects and get other started.

Hopefully news / announcements in the near future on good things.Ã? But maybe more non-news items as well so I won’t talk about them.

It’s wait and see now.

I never formally announced the redo of the blogelation site so here it is. On Saturday I put up the newest version of the blogelation web site which is the base for what the even newer version will be. Consider this new blogelation the transition from old into new.

The major change is I know pull in the feeds from all the participants and parse them for the blogelation tag. When found the story appears on the blogelation site creating a one-stop news source on what ever even we are currently covering. This saves the viewer the needle-in-a-haystack search through the multiple links trying to find who actually wrote on the event.

I’m assuming the newer version will be up in months as I simply do not have the time for it right now and this version will serve the purpose for the brief period of time.

So I’ve finally did it. And I feel dirty, very dirty. Almost as dirty as if I spent the last week at Studio 10 (local gentleman’s club if you will — and definitely not like the ones portrayed in the movies — or so I’ve been told).

If you saw my last post with the picture of the fireworks there’s a secret I must divulge — I touched up the picture. The shot seemed nice and I liked it but there was remnants of the previous fireworks all around with little smoke trails. After looking at the picture and at the time not being happy with any of my fireworks shots I decided to see if I could clean it up.

Last night was the opening ceremonies of Bon Soo.� Scheduling for us just worked out and we were able to make it down to the Roberta Bondar Pavillion just before the fireworks were about to go off.

In case you weren’t outside last night it was quite cold. I had all of my gear with me (lenses, camera bag, tripod) and was trying to set it up before my hands froze and the fireworks began. Just as I extended the tripod the fireworks started. They were not in the location I thought they would be in but a couple of quick adjustments and I was set to start shooting.

As you can see in the shot above I wasn’t in a prime position like I was for the Fourth of July fireworks — my better fireworks pictures if you ask me.

And in news that will probably have me happy for the next month Brett Favre has announced today that he is returning for another year with the Packers.

What does this mean?

It means I must get back to Green Bay for a game next year and I’m already taking names on who else wants to go.Ã? So far interesting home games seem to be Chicago, San Diego, Philadelphia and maybe a good match up based on who they are chosen to play out of the NFCS.Ã? Other home games include Detroit, Minnesota, Washington and Oakland.

And with the Super Bowl just around the corner… “after further review the Bears still suck!”

Last call for any bloggers looking to participate in this round covering Bon Soo. I believe we have six or seven for this round. I still haven’t had time to modify the site but this will happen Friday or Saturday. I will send an email out letting those who are blogging how to properly tag their posts to be featured on the blogelation site.

After I came home from lunch today I had a message on the answering machine from the Art Gallery.

“Your piece, Domino: The Run was not accepted for the show.Ã? Will you please pick it up by 5 PM today.”

So there it is, Domino which was one of the top favourites in votes on this site was rejected by the main juror for the show which will start on Friday.Ã? In the good news front The Microphone and Granola Frank have made it through to the show.Ã? Two out of three isn’t bad right?Ã? Considering this is my first showing I’ll take it.

I’m not sure the reasoning behind Domino not making it through but looking at the other two pieces they can also be seen as a combined piece with them both having a musical tone to them.Ã? Little did the judge know that Domino is the face of the Sault music scene.Ã? Another possible reason was to open up some space for another artists — in this case I’m fine with the decision.Ã? I guess it would just be nice to know why so that you can fix any mistakes or errors for next time.

So I’ve finally been tagged in one of those annoying blog things running wild around the Internet. I’ve seen this one on every blog I read from minor to major blogs and was surprised I lasted this long. Because I’m supposed to be napping now but the hounds had other plans I’ll do the little project.

After just over a day and a half I tallied up all of the votes and printed 3 pictures in the 8×12 format.

I did do some creative counting for the submissions and I am submitting the first, second and fourth place vote getters. I wanted to submit a “rock” shot as that’s what I mainly do.
