Sault Ste. Marie’s winter carnival Bon Soo is fast approaching (Feb 2nd to Feb 11th) and I’ve gone crazy and decided (95%) that I want to participate in the Juried Exhibition being put on by the Art Gallery of Algoma. I want you to help me decide what photos to choose for display. They will be at the end of this post — first read through so you understand most of the criteria or don’t and just choose your favourite photos.

Domino In the Backyard

This is a picture of Domino in the backyard yesterday. His new favourite past time is to sit in the middle of the yard (shown) and bark. He’s not barking at anything in particular he’s just barking to be heard, he might be saying some great doggy diatribe that all the other doggies in the neighbourhood understand but to our neighbours I’m sure it’s just loud barking.

Today WordPress 2.1 was released. If you do not know what that is, it is the blog engine that runs this site. The 2.1 release was a major release and the install went without a hitch so if anyone is tentative on the install have no worries and install away.

Also just to mark the occassion I’ll list the plugins I am currently using as some people are insterested in that:

blogelation: Looking for Bloggers

blogelation guerilla news in Sault Ste. Marie

And the revival begins.

I’m currently researching/reworking the blogelation web site to become more self sufficient and more open to a large number of bloggers. With these changes some help will be needed by the bloggers participating.

What would you need to do?

It’s simple. Any post you create in regards to blogelation will need to be tagged with blogelation. If you’re a Wordpress user or user of other blogging software this will be built-in with the use of your blog categories or you can download a number of plugins which will add Technorati tags to your blog.

If you are a Blogger user it depends on which version you are set up with. For those of you who have been transitioned to the new Blogger which provides tags you’re ready to go. For those of you still stuck on old Blogger you will have to do some manual work on your blogs which I will explain when the time comes. It is also very simple and consists of adding a link at the end of your post when you write it — I will provide the proper code to insert.

As far as other hosted blogging solutions go I am unsure on how they handle tags/categories at the moment but when we receive authors from them I will look into it more.

Why am I looking for bloggers?

Currently I would like a wide assortment of bloggers to blog about our next event. This event is Bon Soo and runs from February 2nd to February 11th. Your basic task is to attend any part of Bon Soo that you wish and then blog about it, take pictures, create videos, do whatever you want. It’s as easy as that.

For more details on what blogelation is visit the site.

If you’re interested in participating in this round leave a comment or use the comment form on this site and I will respond as soon as possible.

Are We Bad Puppy Parents?

Domino and Fozzie - Basset Hounds

When Domino starts getting annoying when we are doing things, for example trying to put together a new shelving unit we just bought; we ask him “Where’s your ball?”

Dom will start to roam the house looking for his ball. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a ball. Does this make us bad puppy parents?

12 Musicians of Christmas 2006 - Frank Deresti

And finally a couple of days late the last batch of 12 Musicians of Christmas photos.

Above is Frank Deresti who played the second last set of the night. Frank played with Sheldon Jaaskelainen, Jay Case, Lindsay Pugh, Ed Young and Cliff Alloy. If you like the Granola People you’d definitely enjoy a Frank set.

12 Musicians of Christmas 2006 - Mark Kuntsi

It’s been a week since I updated and I still have 12 Musicians of Christmas galleries to get up. The fact that it says Christmas in the title I know I’m behind. I’ll make this the 2nd last one however and I plan on getting the last one up later tonight just to get them out of the way.

Pictured above is Mark Kuntsi. He played his set with Jay Case, Lindsay Pugh and Ed Young (if memory serves me correctly, it was half a month ago now).

12 Musicians of Christmas - Al Wood

So I was a little delayed with updating the rest of this section but the cycle begins again.

Above is Al Wood playing with the Woodsmen (Jay Case, Ed Young, Frank Deresti, Lindsay Pugh and Cliff Alloy). Al came from Ottawa I believe to participate in the 12 Musicians of Christmas and his set was great (just like the rest of them of course).
